Scheduling a Connection

FlexNet Manager Suite 2019 R2 (On-Premises Edition)

Data collection on any type of connection is scheduled in a similar way. Schedules must be specified first. Once a schedule exists, it can be linked to any connections you choose, and triggers activity on all attached connections at the times specified in the schedule. Follow this process within the user interface for FlexNet Beacon.

Remember: When the inventory beacon is co-installed on the batch server, only the Active Directory connections are managed through the beacon's internal scheduling. On the batch server, all connections (other than Active Directory) are triggered by Windows Scheduled Tasks; and all such tasks show in the inventory beacon interface as Not scheduled.

To schedule a connection:

  1. In the navigation pane, select the page for the type of connection you wish to schedule.
  2. From the list of connections displayed, select the row for the connection you want to schedule.
  3. Click Schedule....
    The Select Schedule dialog opens.
  4. From the drop-down list, select the schedule you wish to apply.
Tip: As you select each schedule from the list, the area below displays a summary of the schedule settings and the expected Next run time for this schedule.
  5. Click OK to apply the selected schedule.
  6. Click Save to store these details.

The list of connections is updated, and the Next run column for your selected connection shows the projected run time from the schedule you just attached.
