System Health Dashboard

FlexNet Manager Suite 2019 R2 (On-Premises Edition)
FlexNet Manager Suite displays the System Health Dashboard page when you navigate to the system menu ( in the top right corner) and select System Health Dashboard. This page displays the status of various system-level processes like license reconciliation and inventory data inputs. This dashboard has the following widgets (listed here alphabetically):
  • ARL: Displays the version of the Application Recognition Library (ARL) currently in use. It also displays the date and time of the last successful ARL update.
  • Beacon status: Summarizes known issues with inventory beacons, especially highlighting any problems with file uploads:
    • Possible connectivity issues is the total count of connection problems identified across all your inventory beacons (look for the matching alert icons against individual inventory beacons on the Beacons page).
    • Total files pending upload is the count of all blocked files of all types across all your inventory beacons (subtotals for each type of file are visible in the property sheet of each inventory beacon). Zero is perfect; but a few files may sometimes have to wait for an overnight upload, and that is normal. However, many blocked files waiting for longer periods means something needs investigating.
    • Total data pending upload is the sum (in megabytes) of the file sizes of all the files included in the preceding count.
    • Oldest pending upload gives the longest time that any of those files, on any of your inventory beacons, has been unable to upload to the central application server. This line appears only when there are delayed uploads. Anything blocked since yesterday or before needs investigation.
Click anywhere in this widget to go to the Beacons page, where you can identify individual issues and the affected inventory beacons, and drill through to their properties to find what kinds of files are having issues. For more information, see Beacons.
  • Business data inputs with issues: Displays a list of business data input jobs that have some issues involved. You can click the All business data inputs link to view the Business Data tab of the Data Inputs page. For more information about business data inputs, see Business Data Tab.
  • Data Platform: imported software: Shows the cumulative results of imports from Data Platform v5 (previously from BDNA, now from Flexera). The widget only reflects the software side of your inputs from this source: imports of application usage, or of inventory devices and the associated installation records are not summarized. Depending on your results, the following values may be displayed:
    • Recognized applications — The total number of application titles created in FlexNet Manager Suite as a result of imports from Data Platform v5. This is likely to be fewer than the total number of applications that Data Platform v5 found installed within your enterprise, because, when the imported items cannot be matched in the Application Recognition Library (ARL), their records remain within FlexNet Manager Suite as unrecognized installer evidence. For those recognized as applications, there is currently no listing available that identifies only the ones that were imported from Data Platform v5 (as the only inventory source identifying them): since these are applications installed within your computing estate, you can start with the Installed Applications page, but thereafter, you can only look at the installer evidence listed in each application's properties to find those with a Source value of FlexeraID.
    • Not mapped to ARL — This is the count of applications identified within Data Platform v5 that are not yet mapped to any entries in the ARL. Since the ARL provides the rules for recognizing applications, these items could not be recognized as applications within FlexNet Manager Suite. You can identify these records by navigating to License Compliance > Unrecognized Evidence, ensuring that the Installer evidence tab is selected at the top of the page, and then adding a filter to find records with a Type value of Data Platform.
Tip: If one (or more) of these titles is important to your licensing of recognized applications, you can submit a request through your Flexera Support representative to have the recognition work on the relevant application(s) prioritized.
    • Mapped to the latest ARL — These records are imported as installer evidence that cannot be recognized and linked to an application record because the relevant application record is missing from your downloaded ARL. However, the fact that within Data Platform v5, these applications already have an associated Flexera ID means that they are known applications that do exist in the latest ARL. You may need to trigger an update to your ARL, or wait for the next regular update of the ARL (checked daily, but defaults to weekly updates) to recognize these imports as applications. You can identify these records by navigating to License Compliance > Unrecognized Evidence, ensuring that the Installer evidence tab is selected at the top of the page, and then adding a filter to find records with a Type value of FlexeraID.
  • Failures processing discovery and inventory uploads: Displays the failures in processing discovery and inventory uploads during the past seven days. You can click this widget to go to the Failures processing discovery and inventory uploads page. For more information, see Failures Processing Discovery & Inventory Uploads.
  • Inventory data inputs with issues: Displays a list of inventory data input jobs that have some issues involved. You can click the All inventory data inputs link to view the Inventory Data tab of the Data Inputs page. For more information about inventory data inputs, see Inventory Data Tab.
  • License reconciliation: Displays the date and time of the last successful reconciliation along with issues if any. You can click this widget to go to the Reconcile page to view details of the last license reconciliation. You can also click Reconcile to run the license reconciliation.
  • PURL: Displays the version of the Product Use Rights Library (PURL) that is currently in use. It also displays the date and time of the last successful PURL update.
Tip: Downloads of the Application Recognition Library, SKU Library, and Product Use Rights Library are automatically scheduled for implementations where your application server (or your batch server in a multi-server system) has access to the Internet. If your server does not have Internet access, you can manage library updates manually, as described in Manual Updates of Library Data in the Installing FlexNet Manager Suite 2019 R2 On-Premises PDF, available through the title page of online help.
  • SKU Library: Displays the version of the Stock Keeping Unit (SKU) library currently in use. It also displays the date and time of the last successful SKU library update.

In the top right corner, you can click the System Tasks button to go to the System Tasks page, or the Activity Log button to go to the Activity Log page. For more information, see System Tasks and Activity Log.
