Establishing an SAP Connection to a load-balanced SAP Solution Manager
FlexNet Manager for SAP Applications requires a connection to the SAP Admin module to enable the SAP Inventory Agent to collect data using an inventory beacon. In previous versions of FlexNet Manager for SAP Applications, you were able to establish a direct connection to the SAP Admin module, but connections couldn't be established to the SAP Admin module if the SAP Solution Manager was configured behind a load balancer.
This enhancement enables connections to be established using either the existing method of creating a direct connection to the SAP Admin module, or using the new option of connecting to a load-balanced SAP Solution Manager. The new connection method is possible using the existing SAP connection window on the inventory beacon. This is now enhanced with a new 'Logon Group' section, where you can enter the host name of your message server. Successful connections to a load-balanced SAP Solution Manager automatically distribute user logons to individual instances or to groups of SAP instances (application servers) in a load-balancing environment.
