How to install Tanium Connector on FlexNet Manager Suite.

Is Tanium Connector already installed?

The Tanium Connector may already be in place in your FlexNet Manager Suite implementation. You can check this by inspecting any inventory beacon as follows:

1. If the inventory beacon is already running, close and then reopen in as an administrator. This ensures the Tanium Connector package is downloaded to your inventory beacon server.
2. Open Windows Explorer and navigate to your <drive>\<path>\ProgramData\Flexera Software \Compliance\ImportProcedures\Inventory\Reader, for example the default location is C:\ProgramData\Flexera Software\Compliance\ImportProcedures\Inventory\Reader.
   • If a Tanium folder exists, this means the Tanium Connector is already in place and you are ready to Configure FlexNet Beacon to connect with Tanium.
   • If the Tanium folder does not exist, then you must complete the following steps to install the Tanium Connector.

Installing Tanium Connector

1. Use your browser to access the Flexera Customer Community.
   1. On https://community.flexera.com/, use the account details emailed to you with your order confirmation from Flexera to log in (using the Login link in the top right).
      Tip: Access requires your Customer Community user name and password. If you do not have one, click the Let's go! button on the login page to request one. Your credentials are configured for access to content you have licensed.
   2. Select Find My Product and choose FlexNet Manager from the top menu and then click the Download Products and Licenses link in the Product Resources section.
      A routing page appears to let you Access Product and License Center, displaying lists of products from Flexera.
   3. In the lists of products, identify FlexNet Manager Platform, and immediately below it, click LET'S GO.
      The Product and License Center site displays.
   4. In the Your Downloads section of the Home page, click the link for FlexNet Manager Platform.
   5. In the Download Packages page, click the link for FlexNet Manager Platform 2020 R1 to access the downloads.
2. Click the Adapter Tools for FlexNet Manager Suite 2020 R1.zip link and download to a convenient location (such as C:\temp).
   This archive file contains the required TaniumConnector.zip file.
3. To install the Tanium Connector on FlexNet Manager Suite:
   1. On the FlexNet Manager Suite central application server (or the batch server in a multi-server implementation), extract the downloaded TaniumConnector.zip file to a temporary local folder.
   2. Navigate through the unzipped archive to TaniumReader folder and follow the steps in the readme file.
4. To update the FlexNet Beacon:
   1. On the FlexNet Beacon server, extract the downloaded TaniumConnector.zip file to a temporary local folder.
   2. Navigate through the unzipped file until you see the Beacon folder and follow the steps in the readme file.
5. To replace your entire FlexNet Manager Suite online help so it includes the Tanium Connector topics:
   1. On the web application server, extract the downloaded TaniumConnector.zip file onto a local folder.
   2. Navigate through the unzipped archive to the WebHelp folder and follow the steps in the readme file.
