Available Controls

Type Description
Enable parent connection For normal operations this check box must be selected (ticked). Clear this check box only in exceptional circumstances where you wish to isolate this inventory beacon temporarily and prevent it reporting inventory, receiving updated rules, and so on.
Server URL
The network location of your FlexNet Manager Suite application server with which this inventory beacon should communicate. Include the protocol, for which HTTPS (on port 443) is recommended (HTTP on port 80 is also supported). Example: https://fnmpserver.domain.com
Note: If you have scaled up to multiple central servers, this should be the URL for the batch server.
Test connection Use this button to retest that the URL and credentials have been entered correctly and connection is possible. As the test completes, details appear that either confirm success or hint at likely problems. The test is conducted automatically when connection details are changed. This button allows you to retest after changing some external factor (for example, updating proxy settings).
Download configuration Opens a configuration page from FlexNet Manager Suite in your default web browser. This page contains detailed instructions. The Unique ID for this beacon is already completed, and you need to add a meaningful (friendly) name and other details for the beacon before clicking Download configuration in that web page. For more details, see Register an Inventory Beacon.
Import configuration After downloading the configuration file for your inventory beacon, click Import configuration to load the configuration file into this inventory beacon. Connection details in this tab are updated.
