Fields Available in the License Summary List

FlexNet Manager Suite 2020 R2 (On-Premises)
The following fields are available in the Licenses summary list that displays the impact of your simulation.
Tip: All monetary values are displayed in the currency selected for this simulation (see Choosing a Simulation Currency).
Column Description
Actions Icons for the actions available on this row. By default, a single edit icon allows you to modify the Unit price value for this license. Once you have modified the Unit price , a second icon appears on this row allowing you to revert to its value when you started the simulation.
Change to liability The difference of Projected liability less Original liability. This value may go negative if you have reduced, but not removed, over-consumption on this license. A positive change means you have increased liability (that is, your simulation is making your over-consumption worse). This value will be blank if both its source fields are also blank.
Changed value The monetary value assigned to the change in points consumed (Points changed x Unit price). Note that this is not a projected liability, since it takes no account of your purchased entitlements. However, it may be a helpful metric for management reporting, even when there is no change in the projected external liability.
License name The individual license for which impacts are displayed. To find the individual machines where consumption of this license is occurring:
  1. Select this license name from the View license pull-down above both lists
  2. Clear the Include rows not affected by the selected license check box
  3. Look in the Inventory details tree.
New points consumed License consumption (measured in points for most supported licenses, or as entitlements) after your simulated changes have been taken into account.
Original liability The liability is your exposure, the financial amount that your enterprise is liable to pay to bring the selected licenses into compliance. The original liability is the exposure before your simulation: the value of any over-consumption recorded against this license in the last reconciliation (Original points consumed x Unit price). This field is blank if this license was in compliance at that time, or if either of its source fields is blank (frequently this is Unit price, and you can manually insert a Unit price value for this simulation, as described in Adjusting the Unit Price).
Original points consumed License consumption recorded against this license in the last reconciliation performed before you started this simulation. For most supported licenses, the consumed entitlements are measured as points.
Points changed The difference in points consumed as a result of your simulated changes (New points consumedOriginal points consumed).
Projected liability The value of any over-consumption recorded against this license in the current state of your simulation (New points consumed x Unit price). This field is blank for any license that is now in compliance in your simulation, or if either of its source fields is blank (frequently this is Unit price, and you can manually insert a Unit price value for this simulation, as described in Adjusting the Unit Price).
Purchased The available points (or license entitlements) that can be consumed in your simulation before a license is over-utilized. This is the sum of entitlements purchased in all purchase order lines (that you have access rights to see) linked to this license, plus any value in the Extra licenses property of that license.
Status The current compliance status of each license in your simulation, one of:
  • Still compliant — This license was compliant at the last reconciliation in your production environment, and your simulation has not changed that situation
  • Still at risk — Your simulation has not corrected the over-utilized license that existed at the last reconciliation
  • Now compliant — Whereas this license is over-utilized in your production environment (as of the last reconciliation before you began this simulation), your changes have brought it back into compliance
  • Now at risk — In your production environment (as of the last reconciliation before you began this simulation), this license is compliant; but your simulation has increased consumption to the point where it now exceeds your total purchased entitlements.
Unit price The monetary value of each license point (entitlement). This value is derived from:
  • The Override unit price property displayed in the Purchase tab of the licence’s property sheet, where that had a value when you created this simulation
  • Your entitlement purchase most recently linked to the license, reading the Quantity nn at unit price from the Financial tab of the purchase’s properties.
If both these sources are blank, the Unit price is also blank.

Pricing may become outdated. You can therefore enter or update the Unit price for any license in the current simulation (see Adjusting the Unit Price). For consistent use in many future simulations, edit the Override unit price property displayed in the Purchase tab of the licence’s property sheet.
