Asset Assigned User Changes Report

FlexNet Manager Suite 2020 R2 (On-Premises)

The Asset Assigned User Changes report lists all changes to the assigned user of an asset within a selected period.

Hardware asset managers may wish to generate this report on a weekly or monthly basis as part of a review process to identity which assets are being assigned to new users and, in particular, which assets are being frequently reassigned. Use this report to identify why user-based license consumption may have changed, and to determine whether the inventory device attached to an asset should be checked for the correct license model (such as license type, second-use rights, and the like).

Generating the report

1. Navigate to Hardware Assets > Assets > Asset Assigned User Changes.
2. In the top left corner is a standard filter labeled Period. From the adjacent drop-down list, choose your preferred reporting period. You can choose the last 7, 14, 30, or 90 days, all measured from today. The default selection is seven days.
3. Click Run report.

Reading the report

The following columns (listed alphabetically) are available in this list. By default, some are available through the column chooser.

Action

A description of the Assigned user change. For example, Assigned To User was set to Jane Tan.

FlexNet Manager Suite generates the value of this field.

Asset name

The name given to identify this asset.

Editable in the Name field in the General tab of the asset properties.

Asset tag

The company-specific identification code assigned to this asset.

Editable in the General tab of the asset properties.

Date

The date when the user assigned to this asset was changed.

FlexNet Manager Suite generates the value of this field.

Serial no.

The unique identifier for the inventory device linked to this asset record.

The manufacturer's serial number (where it exists) of the linked inventory device is automatically copied here whenever the linked inventory device is updated. Editable in the Serial number field in the General tab of the asset properties.

User name

The user name of the operator who made the change.

FlexNet Manager Suite generates the value of this field.
