Contract Hierarchy Report
The Contract Hierarchy report lists details of contracts and parent/main contracts. This report is typically generated by software license managers who manage complex contracts with child contracts like Microsoft Select Agreements. These users may choose to generate this report when they need to see all child contracts linked to a single parent contract.
Generating the report
- Navigate to .
- Click Run report to display the details of all contracts and parent contracts.
Limiting the report results
Located from left to right below the report title are the following filters and search fields:
- Enter all or part of any contract information (contract name, contract number, contract type, parent contract name, parent contract number, parent contract type, contract status) in the search box and click the search icon to find matching records.
- Click Add filter and set one or more filters as
follows:
- Select Contract - Contract type, select one or more contract types from the drop-down list, and then click the orange check icon.
- Select Contract - Master contract type, select one or more parent contract types from the drop-down list, and then click the orange check icon.
- Select Contract - Status, select one or more contract status from the drop-down list, and then click the orange check icon.
Reading the report
The following columns (listed alphabetically) are available.
Column name | Description |

Contract number |
The identifying code for the contract. Editable in the Contract no. field in the General tab of the contract properties. |
Contract type |
The kind of contract. Editable in the Contract type field in the General tab of the contract properties. |
Master contract name |
The name (or brief description) of the parent contract (if any) that governs or over-arches this one, making this a sub-contract. Editable in the Description field in the General tab of the contract properties. |
Master contract no. |
Editable in the Description field in the General tab of the contract properties. The identifying code for the parent contract (if any) that governs or over-arches this one, making this a sub-contract. Editable in the Master contract field in General tab of the contract properties (in the Identification group). |
Master contract type |
The contact type of the parent contract (if any) that governs or over-arches this one, making this a sub-contract. Editable in the Contract type field in the General tab of the contract properties. |
Name |
The name (or brief description) of the contract. Click to open the contract properties. Editable in the Description field in the General tab of the contract properties. |
Status |
The current standing of this contract. The following options are provided: Active, Archived, Cancelled, Completed, Draft, Expired, and Suspended. Editable in the Status field in the General tab of the contract properties. |
