Licenses Consumed and Allocated by Enterprise Groups Report

The Licenses Consumed and Allocated by Enterprise Groups report lists the total license consumption and allocation figures for each enterprise group.

Generating the report

1. Navigate to License Compliance > Licenses > Licenses Consumed and Allocated by Enterprise Groups.
2. Click Run report to display results for all licenses consumed and allocated across all enterprise group types.

Limiting the report results

Located from left to right below the report title are the following filters and search fields:

• Using the standard filter labeled Licenses, choose from the following:
  • Select Exact if you know the names of the licenses you wish to report on. This displays a search field labeled Licenses. Click the search icon and choose one or more licenses for this report.
  • Select Range to limit the report by a product range. This displays a search field labeled Publisher. Click the search icon and choose a single publisher to view their product range. This displays a search field labeled Product.
    • Optionally click the search icon and choose a single product to include in this report. This displays two standard filters labeled Version and Edition which enables you to limit the report to a single version and edition.
• Using the standard filter labeled Enterprise type, optionally choose to limit the report by enterprise group Location, Corporate unit, or Cost center.

Reading the report

The following columns (listed alphabetically) are available in this list. By default, some are available through the column chooser.

Allocated

The number of license entitlements allocated to computers or end-users. Those with allocations have top priority consuming from this license, and cannot consume from any other. Allocations may also be set (per license) to always count as consumption (regardless of inventory). For each inventory device, you can also modify the behavior of allocations.

The Allocated value is editable in the Consumption tab of the license properties. Furthermore, the type of allocation can be adjusted on the Licenses tab of the inventory device properties.

Consumed

The total number of licenses consumed locally by an enterprise group. This field also displays the total number of licenses consumed by enterprise group equals one or more of these following conditions:

• License with no corporate unit
• License with no cost center
• License with no location.

Edition

The edition property of the license. Commonly this echoes the edition of an application attached to the license, but may be used in other ways in your enterprise.

Editable in the Identification tab of the license properties.

Enterprise group

The name of the enterprise group assigned to the license. This field also displays a record where the license, which is assigned to an enterprise group, equals one or more of these following conditions:

• License with no corporate unit
• License with no cost center
• License with no location.

Enterprise groups are managed in the Group assignment tab of the license properties.

License name

The license name may be:

• Copied from the first-linked software product
• Derived from the License Name field of the SKU in the first-linked purchase (or if there is no SKU, from the purchase Description field)
• Created manually.

The Name value is editable in the Identification tab of the license properties.

Version

The version assigned to the license. This may be tracking versions of a linked application, or may an independent value.

The license Version is editable in the Identification tab of the license properties.
