M1 and latest macOS supported
FlexNet Manager Suite version 2020 R2
The FlexNet inventory agent for version 2020 R2 (internal number is 16.0.1) now supports gathering software inventory from the Big Sur release (version 11) of macOS. This means the existing methods of inventory collection from macOS are now extended to the latest release of Apple's operating system.
As well, the same version of the FlexNet inventory agent also supports gathering
inventory from Apple devices running the M1 chipset (or "Apple silicon"). To do so, the
FlexNet inventory agent requires that Rosetta 2 is running (Rosetta is Apple's
solution to allow software originally designed for Apple Intel devices to run on Apple
silicon). On an Apple M1 device, there are two ways to install and run Rosetta 2:
- Interactive installation that asks for agreement to the Rosetta 2
license:
/usr/sbin/softwareupdate --install-rosetta
- Non-interactive
installation:
/usr/sbin/softwareupdate --install-rosetta --agree-to-license
