Configuring the Technopedia Connector

If you have not already selected the suitable inventory beacon on which to install your Technopedia connector, check the prerequisites in Prerequisites for Imports from Technopedia.

The Technopedia connector from FlexNet Manager Suite is, like all other "connectors" (as distinct from more complex "adapters"), simply a link from a suitably-positioned inventory beacon to an external database, in this case the database used by Technopedia. As with all such connectors, it is simply a matter of setting up a schedule to trigger imports from Technopedia at convenient times, and configuring the connection itself.

In the case of the Technopedia connector, however, there may be a preliminary process to download enhancements to the back end code of FlexNet Manager Suite, enhancing the database schema, updating database readers and writers, and saving a new connection folder for automatic distribution to your inventory beacons along with beacon policy – this folder automatically updates the Source Type drop-down menu used in the inventory beacon interface when you are configuring your connector.
