Overriding Hardware Inventory Values

FlexNet Manager Suite 2021 R1 (On-Premises)

You can override missing or incorrect inventory values for several hardware properties, including the following fields:

  • Clock speed (MHz)
  • Cores
  • Model
  • Processor Type
  • Processors
  • Sockets
  • Threads.
Remember: Any values you provide for these fields are not updated by future inventory imports.

For virtual machines, this will be the maximum clock speed reported by that virtual machine, rather than the clock speed of the host server. In contrast, for Oracle Named User Plus and Oracle Processor licenses that take account of clock speed, the points calculations use the attribute of the host server, not of any virtual environment.

To override hardware inventory values:

  1. Select your target inventory device in any listing of inventory devices, and open its Inventory Device Properties page.
  2. Click either of the following tabs:
    1. If you need to override the Model value, click the General tab.
    2. For all other values, click the Hardware tab.
  3. Click Override displayed next to the field you want to change.
    The Overridden box displays.
  4. Type in (or spin up) a new value, and click Save.
Optionally, repeat for any other values needing correction.
"Your device details were saved successfully" message displays.
Note: To cancel an existing overridden value, click displayed on the overridden field's row, and click Save: the previous inventory value is immediately restored.
