Version Control of FlexNet inventory agent Recognition Rules
FlexNet Manager Suite now enables you to select the version of the FlexNet inventory agent recognition rules to be used by the inventory agent. By default, these rules will continue to update automatically via the Application Recognition Library update process, however you now have the ability to authorize a specific version of these rules which will prevent further updates being deployed to your inventory agents.
In addition, you are now able to download and test a specific version of the rules first before authorizing that version to be deployed to all inventory agents. This provides you with full control over your organization's change management process.
Additional Information
You can only authorize versions which higher than the version currently in use. Once a version has been authorized you cannot roll back to a lower version. To download and test a version you must download the file from the FlexNet Manager Suite user interface and manually place it on a server which has the inventory agent installed. You must then allow that inventory agent to perform the normal inventory gathering process and upload the data into FlexNet Manager Suite to be processed.
