Co-location with Microsoft SQL Server 2017 and 2019

FlexNet Manager Suite version 2019 R2

This release delivers a smoother process for installing FlexNet Manager Suite on a server where Microsoft SQL Server 2017 - 2019 is already installed.

This is achieved with two downloads that enable you to meet the security requirements of SQL Server 2017. Firstly, there is a new Flexera signed security certificate which identifies the installation as a trusted assembly. Secondly, we provide you with a SQL script which enables you to import the security certificate.

This new process requires your database administrator to execute the downloaded script and create a user that can enable the key before the FlexNet Manager Suite installation process.

Note: This enhancement removes the manual task of disabling the sp_configure option called CLR Strict Security using SQL Scripts which was performed by a database administrator for previous versions of FlexNet Manager Suite.

These new files are available for you to download from the Flexera Product and License Center.

Additional Information

It is recommended for a database administrator to download and run these scripts prior to installation, as the user who is installing FlexNet Manager Suite may not have the required level of access rights to import the certificate, create the user and so on. The database administrator must to run these scripts before the FlexNet Manager Suite installation begins.
