Configuring ServiceNow for Import
FlexNet Manager Suite
2022 R2
(On-Premises)
Continue the following while still (or again) logged into ServiceNow with administrator privileges.
To configure imports into ServiceNow:
- For service integration application v5.x, in the Flexera Integration group in the navigation bar, click Generate Token. For service integration application v4.x, in the FlexNet Manager Suite for Enterprises group in the navigation bar, click Generate Token.
-
From the account details you created earlier (see Creating a ServiceNow Integration User), insert the user ID in the
Username field and supply the
Password, and click Generate OAuth
Token.
A long Refresh Token appears at the top of the page.
- Copy this Refresh Token value, and transfer to the web interface of FlexNet Manager Suite.
-
When doing Installed Application data export, decide what tables in ServiceNow
that you want this data to go in. To do this, in ServiceNow for integration
application 5.x, navigate to Flexera Integration > Integration Properties (or for version 4.x, navigate to
FlexNet Manager Suite > Integration Properties). Then in that page, from the Decide whether to use
CMDB or SAM tables drop-down list and select one of the
following options:
- Decide automatically — Import to SAM tables. If no SAM tables exist, data is instead imported to CMDB tables.
- Use CMDB tables — Import to CMDB tables.
- Use SAM tables — Import to SAM tables. If there are no SAM tables, the import will fail.
- Use CMDB and SAM tables — Import to CMBD tables and SAM tables. If SAM tables do not exist, the import will fail.
-
Change the account used for processing the import in ServiceNow. To do
this:
-
For integration application 5.x, go to Flexera
Integration > Advanced > Scheduled Data Imports (or for service integration application v4.x, go to
FlexNet Manager Suite > Advanced > Scheduled Data Imports).
The Scheduled Data Imports list appears.
-
Click FNMS Import Schedule.
Note: Flexera Schedule Import is currently only used by Flexera Data Platform. FlexNet Manager Suite users should select FNMS Import Schedule.
- Change the Run as user to the integration user. (This is the user ID that you created earlier (see Creating a ServiceNow Integration User).
- Click Update.
-
For integration application 5.x, go to Flexera
Integration > Advanced > Scheduled Data Imports (or for service integration application v4.x, go to
FlexNet Manager Suite > Advanced > Scheduled Data Imports).
