Metric Value

FlexNet Manager Suite 2022 R2 (On-Premises)
For an IBM VPC license, the metric used in calculating license consumption is the number of VPCs available to each device running the licensed product. Therefore the Metric value column shows the VPC count for each device. The VPC count may be:
  • The count of processor cores available in a stand-alone computer that is not hosting VMs
  • The thread count (or vCPU count) for an instance running in the cloud (where the hosting cloud service provider is identified in the Hosted in field in the General tab of the device properties)
  • The count of virtual processor cores assigned to an individual virtual machine
  • For a resource pool or host, the sum of all the VPC assignments to all its child VMs – if necessary, capped at the total number of cores available to the pool or available in the host (so that assigning multiple time-sliced cores to child VMs cannot in total exceed the licensable capacity of the host).
At the host level, the rolled-up sum of metric values for all child devices (capped if necessary) is then processed with the Product conversion ratio to arrive at the count of Consumed license entitlements shown for the product.
Tip: The Metric value is only populated for records at the top of the device hierarchy – VM hosts, or Kubernetes clusters.

Available only for IBM VPC licenses.
