Executing a Package Measurement

FlexNet Manager Suite 2023 R1 (On-Premises)

Before you execute a package measurement, you must have imported the primary data of the packages and displayed the packages that are available for you to use. For more information, see Importing Source Data of Packages and Displaying Packages of Installed Systems, respectively.

With FlexNet Manager for SAP Applications, you can continually run (simulate) the measurement of the packages without triggering the USMM itself.

Simulating the package measurement enables you to keep an overview of the current load of your used packages. FlexNet Manager for SAP Applications can measure all of the packages that SAP can measure.

To execute a package measurement:

1. In the Main menu of the SAP Admin module, select an active system from the system landscape.
2. Click Packages, then select Package Analysis from the menu.
3. In the Package Analysis screen, select the desired systems and click the Execute button or press F8.
4. In the Package Analysis – Display screen, select the packages you want to measure. The check box in the Measure column (long name: Measure Package) shows a check mark if the package has been selected for measurement. You have the following options:
   • To select or deselect individual packages, select or clear the check box of a package in the Measure column.
   • To select or deselect multiple packages, select the corresponding rows, then click Check Selections or Uncheck Selections.
5. Click Save to save your selection.
6. Click Start Measurement.

The measurement status is color-coded:

• Green — Measurement results are available.
• Yellow — The package is currently being measured.
• Red — The package measurement was not completed due to errors during the measuring process. If the status is red, the Error Message column contains information about the issue.
• Gray — The package has not been measured, or the measurement result was zero.

After the measurement you can display the measurement results and set package usage alerts, if desired.

The package measurement results are automatically added to the staging database on the SAP Admin module. The SAP Inventory Agent can connect to this staging database and load the data into the FlexNet Manager Suite database.
