Deleting a License from the Points Rule Set

FlexNet Manager Suite 2023 R1 (On-Premises)

You can neither link nor delete a license from the Licenses tab of the points rule set properties. Instead, starting from those properties, follow this procedure to delete a license from the list of Licenses using this points rule set.

To delete a license:

1. In the properties of the points rule set, be sure that you have selected the Licenses tab.
2. Do either of the following:
   • Double-click the license in the list.
   • Select the license in the list, and then click Open.
   The property page for the selected license opens.
3. In the license properties, select the Identification tab.
4. In the Points rule set control, do either of the following:
   • Clear the field, optionally enter a few characters that start the name of a different point set you want to use, and click Search. Choose your replacement points set from the list available.
     Tip: This is the reason for coming back to the license properties, so that when you remove one points rule set from the license, it is quick and convenient to attach a more suitable points rules set instead.
   • Clear the field.
     Note: You should not leave a points-based license without a link to any points rule set. Such a license without a points rule set is not included in compliance calculations, and cannot show consumption. Clearing the field only, without a replacement point rule set, should only be a temporary situation.
5. Click Save.
   The modified license is written to the compliance database.
6. Click Close.
   You are returned to the properties of the points rule set where you began. Refresh the display to see that the license has been removed from the Licenses tab of the point rule set properties.
