Cloud Paks Tab

FlexNet Manager Suite 2023 R1 (On-Premises)

This tab appears only for licenses covering IBM Cloud Paks – these are the IBM VPC license type, and have the Consume for each product on a device control (in the License consumption rules section of the Use rights & rules tab) selected.

The appropriate Cloud Pak must be listed in this page, and must have the evidence from the IBM License Service linked to it (visible as installer evidence in the Evidence tab of the application properties), for the license consumption recorded by the IBM License Service to be included in your license reconciliation.

Tip: When a Cloud Pak is listed in this tab, its member "bundled products" that are part of the Cloud Pak must also be listed on the Applications tab of these license properties.

Consumption tracking relies on the correct Cloud Pak ID(s) and bundled product IDs all being available on the license.

On this tab, you may:

• Open the properties of the Cloud Pak record (select a Cloud Pak in the listing, and click Open)
• Remove a Cloud Pak from this license (select the Cloud Pak in the listing, and click Remove)
• Link other Cloud Paks to this license (use the Search control to find and select your chosen Cloud Pak, and then click Add Cloud Paks).

The following columns (listed alphabetically) are available in the listing on this tab.

Note: Because the Cloud Pak is a specialized type of application record in FlexNet Manager Suite, some columns allow fewer options/values than you may be familiar with entries on the Applications tab of a license.

Application

The Cloud Pak's name, which is set by the Application Recognition Library, and not editable.

Category

The broad function of the application, by default from the UN Standard Products and Services Code.

Classification

The type of software, especially as it relates to licensing (freeware, commercial, component, and so on).

Edition

The edition of an application, as specified by the publisher of this application.

Note: Many applications do not specify an edition.

Evidence capability

For IBM Cloud Paks, only the Installation type is relevant, and is automatically applied to the evidence returned from the IBM License Service.

Extended

Displays Yes when the application originated in the Application Recognition Library, but someone in your enterprise has added extra evidence to the application definition. A No means the application comes from the Application Recognition Library and is unchanged.

Not editable. Updated automatically when evidence is linked to the application defined by the Application Recognition Library.

Flexera ID

A generated code that uniquely identifies all application records, and can be used for integration between products from Flexera.

This data is read-only. This is true for both applications sourced locally and those from the Application Recognition Library.

License keys

The license keys authorizing each application linked to this license.

Tip: This column is available from the column chooser, but only when, on the Identification tab of these license properties, the license keys Rule has been set to One (multi-install) key per application.

Product

The basic name of the application, excluding the publisher and references to versions or editions.

Publisher

The name of the publisher of this software, responsible for its development and distribution.

For Cloud Paks, this is most often IBM.

Source

The origin of a Cloud Pak record:

• Flexera — Shown when the application is downloaded in Application Recognition Library (if so, you cannot edit any of the application’s properties, but can link it to additional evidence).
• Flexera (Extended) — Shown when an operator added additional evidence to the original record from Application Recognition Library.

Not editable.

Suite

For an IBM Cloud Pak, displays No, because the 'bundled applications' that are members of a Cloud Pak are not considered to be a suite.

Usage

Always shows zero for an IBM Cloud Pak.

Not editable.

Version

The release number (or release identifier) of an application.
