Minimum Users

    (On-Premises)
The minimum number of Oracle users required by this license.
It is best practice to leave these settings as configured by the Oracle
license templates shipped with the Product Use Rights Library (PURL) for Oracle. If
you are creating a license manually, enter or dial up the minimum number of Oracle
users specified in the license agreement with Oracle. This value depends at least on
the product, the edition, and where the product is running, so check the license
terms carefully. For example, at time of writing:
    - Oracle Database Standard Edition 2 running on-premises requires a minimum of
10 NUP entitlements. Matching settings are:- Minimum users = 10
- Minimum users type = Per server.

- The same Oracle Database Standard Edition 2 running in the cloud (with an
approved cloud service provider) requires 10 NUP entitlements for every 8
vCPUs or part thereof (and this edition may only be licensed on a cloud
instance up to 16 vCPUs). Here the Minimum users values is again
10, but you also need to complete an additional
field on the Use rights & rules tab of these
same license properties (see License Consumption Rules for details of the
                            Number of vCPUs per server
for NUP minimums field, which defines the coverage of vCPUs provided by this minimum
number of NUP entitlements). Settings are:- Minimum users = 10
- Minimum users type = Per server
- Number of vCPUs per server for NUP minimums (on the Use rights & rules tab) = 8.

- Oracle Database Enterprise Edition running on-premises requires a minimum of
25 NUP entitlements per processor core, such that a single processor with 4
cores requires 100 NUP entitlements in this case (if the Oracle-defined
factor for the type of processor is 1 — other
processors may have other values, such as an Intel processor with a factor
of 0.5). Matching settings are:- Minimum users = 25
- Minimum users type = Per processor core.

- Oracle Database Enterprise Edition running on an instance provided by your
cloud service provider also requires knowledge of hyper-threading on
the cloud instance: if hyper-threading is enabled, every two vCPUs require
an NUP entitlement; and if hyper-threading is not in use, each vCPU requires
its own NUP entitlement (notice that the count of vCPUs for an inventory
device is shown as the Threads property on the
Hardware tab of its properties). The minimum of
25 NUP entitlements also applies. - Minimum users = 25
- Minimum users type = Per processor core, noticing that when hyper-threading is enabled, each 2 vCPUs will be interpreted as 1 core for licensing purposes
- Metric (also on this Identification tab) = Number of cores (for the Enterprise Edition, and notice that the Oracle Processor Core Factor Table is then used to factor this into the licensable number of cores).

Only available for Oracle Named User Plus licenses.
