Registering Valid Domains for Custom URLs

FlexNet Manager Suite 2024 R1 (On-Premises)

People accessing your Flexera Analytics reports can save custom URLs to keep their favorites at their fingertips. However, each URL must contain a server name that is already specified in the valid domains list; otherwise, the users cannot create the URL.

Valid domains can only be registered by the operator in the Analytics Administrator role.

To register one or more domains for custom URLs:

  1. On your server that hosts Flexera Analytics, run the IBM Cognos Configuration program as an Administrator.
  2. In the Explorer panel on the left, navigate to Security > IBM Cognos Application Firewall.
  3. In the main Component Properties panel, ensure that the value of the Enable CAF validation? property is set to True.
  4. For the Valid domains or hosts property, select the value, and click the edit (pencil) icon that appears in this row.
The Value - Valid domains or hosts dialog appears.
  5. In this dialog, click Add and enter the domain and/or host-name you want to authorize.
You may specify a fully-qualified domain name for a host, or use an asterisk wild card to match any host in a domain. You may also include multiple entries if need be. Examples include:
    • host1.exampleCompany.com
    • *.exampleCompany.com
  6. When your list is complete, click OK to close the dialogue box.
  7. In the Component Properties panel, select File > Save (or enter Ctrl+S) to save the updated configuration.
  8. Restart the IBM Cognos services by clicking restart icon in the toolbar, or selecting Actions > Restart from the menu.
Restarting these services may take a little time.

Your changes are now active, and people reviewing your Flexera Analytics pages can now save their preferred URLs.
