compliance
In software asset management, compliance is the measure of how far your enterprise
meets the requirements of the software licenses you have purchased (also taking into account
any software installations that are not appropriately licensed). A given license is
'compliant' when your use of the software meets all the conditions and requirements of the
publisher's license agreement. Your overall license position is a measure of how many
licenses are compliant, and how many are 'over-utilized', which is the opposite of compliant.
