Zero-footprint inventory

A method in which FlexNet Manager Suite, through the inventory beacon, can use remote execution to gather software and hardware inventory details from a computer. This method does not require the installation of FlexNet Inventory Agent on the target device. (This method was previously called "zero-touch inventory", but this term is now deprecated because it led to misunderstandings.) On many platforms, Zero-footprint inventory gathering temporarily installs an agent on the target device (so that it is not strictly zero "touch"); but the temporary agent is removed afterward collecting and uploading inventory, so that there is no residual installation footprint.
