Creating or Updating a Subnet

FlexNet Manager Suite 2024 R1 (On-Premises)

An inventory beacon remotely extracts Discovery & Inventory from one or more subnets of your organization. For effective collection of inventory data, you should replicate your organizational network hierarchy to FlexNet Manager Suite and assign your network subnets to one or more inventory beacons.

To create a subnet:

1. Navigate to Discovery & Inventory > Subnets.
   FlexNet Manager Suite displays the Subnets page.
2. Click + before the site name to expand the site in which you want to create a subnet.
3. In the Actions column against the site record, click + to create a new subnet. To edit an existing subnet, click the edit icon in the Actions column against the subnet record. To edit an existing record, click the edit icon against the site.
4. Specify the subnet mask and CIDR notation for the subnet.
5. Select the name of the beacon from the Beacon name drop-down list.
   FlexNet Manager Suite assigns this beacon to your subnet.
6. Select a value for Update automatically. If you select Yes, the subnet record reported by Active Directory will overwrite this.
7. Click the save icon to save the site record.

You have created a subnet record and assigned an inventory beacon to it.
