Setting Package Usage Alerts
FlexNet Manager Suite

(On-Premises)
You can only set an alarm for packages that you have measured. For more information,
see Executing a Package Measurement.
An email alert can be triggered when usage occurs on a package unit or when the usage on a package unit is higher than during previous periods.
When a usage alert is triggered, an email containing the appropriate information is sent to the email address that was specified. This enables you to detect at an early stage when a measurement-relevant package is used. You can deactivate the alert at any time by using the option Deactivate Alert.
To set up alerts for package units:
- In the Main menu of the SAP Admin module, select an active system from the system landscape.
- Click Packages, then select Package Analysis from the menu.
- In the Package Analysis screen, select the desired systems and click the Execute button or press F8.
- In the Package Analysis – Display screen, select the packages for which you want to set up an alert, and click Display Measurement Results.
- In the Display Results screen, select the units for which you want to set an alert and click Activate Alert.
- In the Email dialog that opens, enter the email address to which alerts should be sent. Confirm with Enter.
In the Display Results screen, a check mark in the Email column and the email address indicate that an alert has been set.
After you set up an alert, you need to do the following:
- Specify the parameters for the alert.
- Schedule a regular report.
