System Settings: Integrations Tab
The Integrations tab on the System Settings page enables you to integrate FlexNet Manager Suite with these products:
- ServiceNow
- Flexera One SaaS Management
- Unified Spend Analytics.
ServiceNow
Flexera One SaaS Management
An optional SaaS Manager button that opens Flexera One SaaS Management in a new browser tab is available for the modal navigation bar. By default, this SaaS Manager button is not displayed.
Enabling Integration
Integrating Flexera One SaaS Management with FlexNet Manager Suite enables you to view all SaaS application details directly within the FlexNet Manager Suite interface. This integration provides a consistent and seamless experience for managing both IT and SaaS assets from a single, unified platform.
The integration facilitates the smooth transfer of key data elements from either Flexera One SaaS Management or FlexNet SaaS Manager into FlexNet Manager Suite, including:
- license information
- application metadata
- user details
- usage statistics.
You can select either Flexera One SaaS Management or FlexNet SaaS Manager as your specific SaaS Management product. However, it is not possible to have active connections to both products simultaneously. While data from FlexNet SaaS Manager and Flexera One SaaS Management can coexist, they remain mutually exclusive, meaning the data will not interfere with or merge into each other. If you choose a product that has not been previously integrated, a new connection will be established during the next scheduled import. Conversely, if you deselect a product that was previously used for data import, the connection will be disabled, but all existing data will be retained.
There are three radio button options to choose from:
- Enable Flexera One SaaS Management Integration—When you select this option, FlexNet Manager Suite imports license data (including purchased entitlements and consumption), relevant user data, and the licensed applications from Flexera One SaaS Management.
- Enable SaaS Manager Integration—When you select this option, FlexNet Manager Suite imports license data (including purchased entitlements and consumption), relevant user data, and the licensed applications from FlexNet SaaS Manager.
- Enable non—Select this option if you do not want to enable integration with any SaaS Management product.
No scheduling is required. The import from Flexera One SaaS Management is triggered 4 hours
before, and the import from FlexNet SaaS Manager is triggered 8 hours before the overnight
full inventory import and license consumption calculations (IMImport job)
begin. This timing ensures that the FlexeraSaaSManagerImport job always
runs ahead of the IMImport job, even in the event of an unusually long
FlexeraSaaSManagerImport job. This approach prevents the
InventoryImportWriters step from being delayed by a prolonged FlexNet
SaaS Manager import task.
Switching from one integration to the other
If you switch from one integration to another and then click the Save button at the bottom of the page, a modal will appear displaying the following message "Are you sure you want to switch integration? Licenses from the old integration will remain visible and continue to count toward usage, but they will no longer be updated. To fully retire them, delete the connection on the Data Imports page." For more information on deleting a connection, see Inventory Data Tab in the Online Help.
Unified Spend Analytics
FlexNet Manager Suite supports exporting spend data (all purchase orders linked to software licenses and all purchase orders linked to hardware assets) to Flexera's Unified Spend Analytics. Unified Spend Analytics is a common dashboard available to Flexera customers. At a glance, the Unified Spend Analytics dashboard shows how much your organization is spending on Information Technology components, from which you can easily identify where spending is greatest, and with which vendors. You can also monitor the changing composition of that spend over time. To sign up for Unified Spend Analytics functionality, contact Flexera Support.
By default, the Unified Spend Analytics button is not shown in the modal navigation bar. This button opens Unified Spend Analytics in a new browser tab.
To show the Unified Spend Analytics button in the modal navigation bar, expand the Unified Spend Analytics section and select the Show link to Unified Spend Analytics check box.
