Generate DNS Name

The Domain Name System (DNS) provides a service name to an IP address. To generate a service name to an IP address, perform the following steps.

To generate a DNS name to an IP address:

1. Log in to Microsoft Azure using the obtained credentials:

https://azure.microsoft.com/en-in/account/ 

2. From the list of available Azure services, choose Virtual Machines. The Virtual Machines page appears.

Note:Enter keywords (Virtual Machines) in search box on the Home page to search by name.

3. Select the desired virtual machine. The Overview of the selected virtual machine appears.
4. Under the DNS name property, click the Not configured link. The Configuration page will appear.

5. Under the DNS name label (optional), enter the prefix you want to use.
6. Click the Save button at the top of the page.

7. Upon successful action, DNS name appears.
