Security Groups Tab

Note:Not available when creating a group catalog item.

By specifying security groups on the Security Groups tab, App Portal will add the user, machine or both to the specified security groups. The Service account will require modify permissions to the groups listed. The user will only be added to the group(s) if the installation process completes successfully.

Note:The Microsoft Entra ID tenant name appears in the drop down list only after Microsoft Entra ID details have been configured. If Microsoft Entra ID is selected as IAM, adding targets to Groups for Approval event is not supported.

Admins can add both AD and Entra ID groups at the same time, simplifying configuration. Targets are automatically mapped to their respective Security Groups in AD and Entra ID, supporting unified and efficient identity management.

You can view the identity type that the user/group belongs to.
