Altiris Subtab

On the Deployment > Altiris subtab of the Catalog Item Properties dialog box, you add a software product or a policy on the Altiris Notification Server to the catalog item.

The information and buttons displayed on this tab depend upon whether a software product or policy has been added. Before a product or policy has been added, only the Add Software Product and Add Existing Policy buttons are displayed.

After a policy or program has been added to the catalog item, buttons appear in the ribbon that enable you to change the product, add another policy/program, delete the program, and get additional details.

Add Software Product

Click to open the Add Software Product Dialog Box followed by the Altiris Software Product Deployment Dialog Box, where you can select a package on the Altiris server to add to this catalog item.

Add Existing Policy

Click to open the Add Existing Policy Dialog Box, where you can select an existing policy on the Altiris server to add to this catalog item.

Change Software Product

To change a software product or policy, first delete existing policies/programs, and then add a new software product or policy using the Add Software Product or Add Existing Policy button. Clicking the Change Software Product button just displays a warning message stating that existing items must be deleted in order to change the software product.

Note: Only displayed after a software product or policy has been added.

Note: This button is obsolete and will be removed in the next release.

Delete Program

Select a software product or policy in the list and click this button to delete it from the catalog item.

Get details

Select a policy and then click this button to access the Altiris server and obtain additional information on the selected policy.

Tip: If you select a software item instead of a policy and then click this button, no additional information will be displayed. Additional information is only displayed for policies.

Refresh

Click to contact the Altiris server and refresh the list.

List of products/policies

For each product or policy that is added to the catalog item, the following information is displayed in the list:

Site—Site server name.
Server—Site database server name.
AdvertID—Advertisement/policy ID created on the Altiris server. (Policy only)
CollectionID—Collection ID created by App Portal.
Function—Identifies the function of the program as either an Install, Uninstall, or Repair.
Language—Language of the program.
Advertisement—Name of advertisement defined on the Altiris server. (Policy only)
Collection—Name of collection defined on the Altiris server. (Policy only)
Program—Name of the program defined on the Altiris server.
Package ID—ID assigned to program by the Altiris server. (Policy only)
Create Date—Date and time program/policy was added to this catalog item.
Error—Displays an error message, if necessary.
