Creating a New Inventory Category

In the event that your App Portal environment does not have FlexNet Manager Suite, then inventory records can be created in App Portal for each application needing to be discovered for the OSD process.

The following instructions provide the steps to create a new inventory category.

To create a new inventory category:

1. On the Admin tab, select Compliance Management > Inventory Categories.

2. Select one of the folders in the tree and then click Add Category. You are prompted to enter a category name.

3. In the New Category Name box, enter a category name. For example, you could enter the name of a vendor such as Adobe or Microsoft.
4. Click Add. The new inventory category is now listed in the tree.
