Using User Readiness and Constraints to Schedule OS Deployments

App Portal 2018 R1

You can use App Portal’s User Readiness and Constraints features to schedule users for OS deployment and to limit the number of users that can request and schedule an OS deployment at the same time.

User readiness—App Portal’s User Readiness feature can be used to control which users are permitted to select an OSD catalog item, and to specify when they can schedule a deployment. You can set a start and end date to establish a deployment window for each user, including recommended blackout dates, and notify the users of these constraints via email.
Constraints—Constraints are used to limit the scheduling possibilities for catalog items. For example you could use constraints to prevent all of your users from requesting and scheduling a software installation at the same time. You would also use constraints if you wanted to perform a deployment in a controlled manner over a period of time, but you still want to allow the users to initiate the installation.
