Creating Rules Lists

Important:To create a rules list, you must have the Manage organization or Manage rule-based dimensions role. For complete descriptions of each role available in Flexera One, see Flexera One Roles.

A rules list describes how a rule-based dimension is populated. You can create a rules list and define a date when the list becomes effective. A rules list remains in effect until the effective date of the next list. On any given date, only one list would apply. You can define multiple rules in a list.

To create a rules list:

1. Go to the Rule-Based Dimensions page (Administration > Cloud Settings > Rule-Based Dimensions).
2. In the Dimensions list, click the three dots icon next to the dimension in which you want to add the rules list.
3. Click Create a New Rules List. The Create a New Rules List slideout opens.
4. From the Select Effective Month list, select the date (year-month) for the rules list to become effective.

Note:This rules list is effective at 12:00 AM on the first day of the selected month, and remains effective until another set is defined for a subsequent month.

5. Click Save. The rules list is created and appears under the Dimensions list.
