Creating or Configuring an Inventory Agent

This section describes how to create a new agent configuration or how to edit an existing agent configuration.

To create an agent configuration

1. Navigate to the Agent Configurations screen (Data Collection > IT Visibility Inventory Tasks > Agent Configurations).

The Agent Configurations screen appears and displays the list of all agent configurations. Any configuration overrides the other configurations that are ranked lower in the list.

2. Click the Create Configuration button in the top right of the page.

The Create Configuration screen appears.

3. Enter information in the following fields:
Name—Enter the name of the agent configuration.
Description—Optionally, enter a description of the agent configuration.
4. When you finish the editing, choose one of the following actions:
Cancel—Choose this if you do not want to save any changes you have made. The agent configuration will not be saved.
Save As Draft—Choose this if you want to save the changes you have made but are not ready to make the agent configuration active yet. The agent configuration will be saved on the Agent Configurations page with the status set as Draft.
Save And Enable—Choose this if you are ready to make the agent configuration active. The agent configuration will be saved on the Agent Configurations page with the status set as Enabled.
