Getting Started With Cloud License Management
Cloud License Management generates insights on software spend in the public cloud and create recommendations to optimize pay-as-you-go (PAYG) usage with bring-your-own-license (BYOL) entitlement. It is an integrated approach combining traditional Financial Operations (FinOps) with IT Asset Management (ITAM), specifically addressing the complexities arising from cloud computing and software licensing. With Cloud License Management, organizations can gain a comprehensive view of all costs associated with running applications in the cloud, not just infrastructure expenses. This holistic perspective enables more informed decisions and optimizations, ensuring that cost efficiencies are achieved without compromising on compliance or operational requirements.
You can accomplish the following tasks in Cloud License Management:
Note:Currently, supported public cloud providers are AWS and Azure. Additional public cloud providers will be supported in the future.

Identify the level of PAYG software spend in the public cloud over selected time periods, view trends, and see a projected forecast. |

View the level of software spend by software manufacturer, such as Microsoft, Oracle, Red Hat, Canonical, and so on. |

View the level of software spend by cloud provider and cloud service, such as Amazon ECS, Amazon RDS, and so on. |

View the level of software spend by cost center, and see spend rankings by cost center, with data applicable for showback and chargeback. |

Identify the level of software spend versus cloud instance spend, and view trends. |
|
•
|
View software spend by product, such as Windows Server, SQL Server, Oracle database, Ubuntu, and so on. |

Drill into the details of each cloud instance containing the identified software, including name, ID, location, vCPUs, first and last bill dates, and so on. |

Access software spend data in prior use cases via GraphQL APIs. |
