Asset Properties

IT Asset Management enables you to add, update or delete hardware asset. An asset is any item, from a chair or mobile phone to a server, that represents a certain value to an organization.

Note:The system regularly imports inventory data, either from the databases of external inventory-gathering tools, or through the Inventory Agent. Inventory information typically includes computer configuration details: you can use this data, and link computer records (known as inventory devices) to managed assets of appropriate types (laptops, servers, and so on). This is analogous to adding an asset tag to a physical device in the real world.
