Approving a Version of InventorySettings.xml
To approve a version of InventorySettings.xml, perform the following steps.
To approve a specific version of the InventorySettings.xml file:

1.

Go to the Inventory Settings page (Data Collection > IT Asset Inventory Tasks > Inventory Settings). |

2.
|
Expand the Inventory extensions version section. |
|
3.
|
Change the value of Rule for InventorySettings.xml setting to Always use the approved version. |
Note:The selection will show in brackets the value of the last version approved by your organization or the most recent version if a specific version has not been approved.

4.
|
Choose a version of the InventorySettings.xml file by selecting the corresponding row in the table. |
Note:You can only select a version that is higher than your organization's currently approved version.

5.
|
Click the Approve version button on the top right of the table. |
A confirmation dialog appears indicating that the approval of a specific version will prevent future updates and that once a specific version has been approved you can no longer approve a lower version.

6.
|
Click the Save button to save your changes or the Cancel button to revert changes. |

7.
|
At any point in the future if you wish to change back to having the InventorySettings.xml file automatically updated to the latest version, do the following: |

a.
|
Change the value of Rule for InventorySettings.xml setting to Always use the latest version. |
|
b.
|
Click the Save button at the bottom of the page. |
A confirmation dialog appears indicating that once you switch back to automatic updates you can no longer approve a lower version.

c.
|
Click the Save button to save your changes or the Cancel button to revert them. |
