Inventory Extensions Version

The Inventory extensions version section is where you can control the version of the InventorySettings.xml file that is to be used by the Inventory Agent. The InventorySettings.xml file provides additional queries and rules used in the inventory collection process, and updates to the InventorySettings.xml are delivered as part of updates to the Application Recognition Library.

To control the version of the InventorySettings.xml file that is to be used by the Inventory Agent:

1. Go to the Inventory Settings page (Data Collection > IT Asset Inventory Tasks > Inventory Settings).
2. Expand the Inventory extensions version section.
3. Choose one of the following values from the Rule for InventorySettings.xml setting:
Always use the latest version—Ensures that the Inventory Agent always uses the most up-to-date version of the InventorySettings.xml file. This is the default option.
Always use the approved version—Ensures the Inventory Agent always uses the version of the InventorySettings.xml file that has been approved by your organization. Subsequent updates of the InventorySettings.xml file are not automatically applied to Inventory Agent.
