Identifying Applications Using Evidence

IT Visibility uses evidence information to identify software applications installed or accessed within your enterprise. The evidence information is collected as a part of the inventory collection process.

You can see all your discovered software evidence with overall match counts, aligned with normalized results where applicable, on the IT Visibility Software Evidence page (Applications & Evidence > IT Visibility Software > Software Evidence).

On this page, you can:

View the overall evidence counts for All Evidence, Active Evidence, Irrelevant Evidence, and Unrecognized Evidence.
View the properties of each piece of discovered evidence. You can search for evidence by using the global search box or the filter in each property column. You can also sort the evidence by properties.
View additional evidence details (such as type, data source, and last found date) for a specific piece of evidence by clicking that evidence.

Note:Within each record of the evidence, the Technopedia details reflect the recognition status when the related instances of that evidence was last mapped.

The following table lists all the available properties. Some properties are displayed by default and others can be displayed through the column chooser. To open the column chooser, click the icon. You can also export all these details in the CSV format.
