Using the Mass Filter With the Hardware Portfolio Overview and Software Portfolio Overview Reports
Note:
The Mass Filter is a special visualization that has been added for custom reports you create based on the Technology Intelligence Platform’s Hardware Portfolio Overview and Software Portfolio Overview reports. It allows you to apply bulk filtering based on a list of field values. You can copy a list of field values from any external source (for example, Excel, CSV, or plain text file) and paste them into the Mass Filter’s input box. All values included in the Mass Filter are applied at once to filter the report.
Using this filter, you can reduce manual effort and accelerate insights, especially when working with large datasets or performing comparative analysis.
To add a Mass Filter to your report:
1. | In your Hardware Portfolio Overview or Software Portfolio Overview report, click Manage > Duplicate. This creates a copy of the report as a custom report. |
2. | In the report’s Visualizations pane, click Mass Filter. |
3. | Choose a Category and a Field on which to filter. |
4. | In the Mass Filter settings, you can enter the field values to match and choose whether the filter will include or exclude data with those field values: |
Setting |
Description |
Enter Fields Values |
Field values can be a comma-separated list, cell values copied from an Excel spreadsheet, a list from a plain text file, and so forth, or you can enter them manually. Records that match the field values you enter will be included or excluded from the report depending on the include/exclude setting you choose. |
Set Include/Exclude |
Click Include Matches or Exclude Matches to set whether the filter will include or exclude records that match the field values you entered in the input box. |
When you choose either Include Matches or Exclude Matches, the report is immediately filtered based on all the field values you entered and the include/exclude setting you selected.
