Viewing Import Status

Once IT data is imported from a data source by the FlexNet Beacon, information about that import is recorded. You can view the information on the External Inventory Connections page (Data Collection > IT Visibility Inventory Tasks > External Inventory Connections).

Viewing Import Status Information

To view the status information about an import, go to the External Inventory Connections page (Data Collection > IT Visibility Inventory Tasks > External Inventory Connections), and click the All Imports tab.

The All Imports tab lists the following properties of imports. Some of these properties are visible by default whereas others are available through the column chooser.

Column

Description

Beacon

The inventory beacon where the import runs.

Connection

The name of the connection that the import is from.

Connection Type

The type of the connection declared when the connection was first created.

Elapsed Time

Time elapsed for the import, and for the Extract From Source, Upload to Flexera, and Normalize sub-tasks respectively.

Logs

Provides a link where you can find the log files for the import.

Source Type

The type of data source declared when the connection was created.

Start Date and End Date

Date and time that an import or a sub-task was started and completed.

Status

Status of Completed, In Progress, or Failed for the import, and for the Extract From Source, Upload to Flexera, and Normalize sub-tasks respectively.

Summary

A summary of statistics of the import, such as:

Uploaded: 1,184, Imported new: 0, Unchanged: 813, Updated: 371, Deleted: 52, Merged: 0.

When an import error occurs, this column shows Internal Error or Data Error.

Internal Error—There was a Flexera One system error that prevented your data from being imported. Flexera is aware of this error and working to resolve it. No action is required from you to resolve this error.
Data Error—There was an import error related to the structure or content of the files you were attempting to import. If you click on Data Error in the Summary column, the error message provides buttons to View Help and Download Log.

The View Help button links to a knowledge base article with guidance about how to correct data import errors: Custom Inventory Importer.

The Download Log button shows an XML error log about the specific issues with the data you are attempting to import.

Viewing Import Details and History Information

To view the details of an import, perform the following steps.

To view import details:

1. Go to the External Inventory Connections page (Data Collection > IT Visibility Inventory Tasks > External Inventory Connections), and click the All Imports tab.
2. Click the connection name of the import that you want to view information for. Details about that import opens on the Details tab.
3. To view historical details of that import, click the History tab.
