Viewing Potential Savings in a Billing Center

This section describes how to view potential savings within a parent billing center and sub-billing center (child billing center).

You can also view potential savings at the organization level, for more information, see Viewing Potential Savings.

To view potential savings in the billing center:

1. Go to the Billing Centers page (Cloud > Cost Optimization > Billing Centers). A list of billing centers appears.

Note:The Potential Savings appear on the billing center card view and shows how much spend could be saved per month for your billing center. When you hover over the Potential Savings, it displays the following two types of savings—Rate Reduction and Usage Reduction.

2. Do one of the following:
Click the appropriate billing center name. The billing center page opens. Click the Optimization tab. By default, all recommendations and potential savings per month for the billing center display.
Click Potential Savings on the billing center card view. By default, all recommendations and potential savings per month for the billing center display.
Click the Rate Reduction bar segment under Potential Savings. The Rate Reduction tab opens, displaying the rate reduction savings per month.
Click the Usage Reduction bar segment under Potential Savings. The Usage Reduction tab opens, displaying the usage reduction savings per month.
3. To view rate reduction and usage reduction recommendations and savings, click the following tabs:
Rate Reduction—Shows the recommendations to reduce the cloud rate and what you might save per month by using a discount program, such as reserved instances from a cloud vendor.
Usage Reduction—Shows the recommendations to reduce the cloud usage and what you might save per month by eliminating waste in your cloud ecosystem.

Note:Consider the following:

Relevant properties (columns) are displayed by default in the Rate Reduction and Usage Reduction recommendations tables.
You can group recommendations by relevant properties (columns) to draw additional insights. For more information about the Group by capability, see Group By Capability in Recommendations Tables.
4. To view the recommendation details, click the specific recommendation link in the table. The <Recommendation> slideout opens.

Note:Consider the following:

The information about the recommendation is available under the following tabs—Recommendation, Details, Tag Dimensions, and Rule-Based Dimensions. Click the relevant tab to view the details. The Recommendation tab is enabled by default, displaying information such as recommendation details, potential savings, recommendation type, billing center, currency, and detected (days ago).
On the Recommendation tab, the recommendation details display only if these details are available in the Recommendation Details column. For example, recommendation for rightsizing resources.
To copy the recommendation details, click the Copy button next to the recommendation.
