Extenders
If you already have the Flexera Beacon product set up but still want to use the Extender, it is important that you configure the Ports in use according to Configure Inventory API endpoints, to avoid conflicts as they are both set to the same port by default. To ensure smooth data flow between systems, you must assign different ports for the incoming traffic with IE 80 and 8080.
You are also required to download, install, and configure the Inventory Agents in order to use the Extenders. For detailed instructions, see the Inventory Agents documentation.
Overview
The Extenders are set up and downloaded in Flexera One SaaS Management Settings, installed in your environment, and configured in the Extender configurator. Your Inventory Agents and Integration Manager are configured to send all collected data to the Extenders. The Extenders can also collect information about users and computers directly from a local Active Directory and then forward the collected data to Flexera One SaaS Management immediately. They are also used to export data from SAM core APIs in Flexera One SaaS Management through the out-of-the-box ITSM connectors available in the Integration Manager.

File Elevator
The File Elevator can monitor one or more local folders with inventory or discovery data on your Extender server, and forward the data to Flexera One SaaS Management. This can be convenient if you have Integration Manager installed on the same server as the Extender. Note that both Inventory Agents and Integration Manager can be configured to send their inventory files over HTTP or write them to a disk.
Inventory API
The Snow Inventory API endpoints are used by both Inventory Agents and Integration Manager to pass the inventory results to Flexera One SaaS Management. The DNS name and port you configure here will be an important part of your Inventory Agent configuration when creating the agent installation packages.
License Manager API
The Snow License Manager API endpoints are used to export data from the SAM core APIs in Flexera One SaaS Management via the out-of-the-box ITSM connectors provided in Integration Manager. Additionally, these API endpoints are utilized by the built-in SaaS connectors in the Integration Manager to import data for SaaS applications into SAM Core, such as Microsoft 365 and Adobe Creative Cloud.
Active Directory Discovery
The Active Directory Discovery interface lets you discover users and devices by adding one or more Active Directory domains.
The Active Directory does not contain information about the computer hardware or installed software. However, the information is merged with the user data collected from Inventory Agents and the Integration Connectors for SaaS applications in SAM Core.
Data Forwarder
The Data Forwarder is used to forward snowpacks and inventory data to a secondary on-premises or a publicly hosted destination, in addition to Flexera One SaaS Management. It can be used to forward your usage data to Risk Monitor or the Inventory Server.
