Creating Hybrid Organizational Structures

A hybrid organizational structure is one in which selected vendor daemons are enabled for hybrid aggregation—where usage is aggregated by organizational structure and by license server. You can create a new hybrid organizational structure, or modify an existing organizational structure to enable hybrid aggregation.

Note:You can enable hybrid aggregation only for user-based organizational structures.

Creating New Hybrid Organizational Structures

To create a new hybrid organizational structure:

1.

From the Reporting tab, under Organizational Structures, click Create Organizational Structure. This opens the Add Organizational Structure page.

2.

For Organizational Structure Type, select User ID. (Hybrid organizational structures are available only for user-based organizational structures.)

3.

In the Organizational Structure Name box, provide a unique, descriptive name for your organizational structure.

4.

Define the levels for the organizational structure. For each level:

a.

Type a descriptive level name.

b.

Click Add Level.

5.

Click the Enable aggregation... checkbox.

6.

In the selection box, move the vendor daemons you want to select to the Selected vendor daemons box. To select multiple vendor daemons at one time, hold down the Ctrl key while selecting items.

7.

Click Save.

The selected vendor daemons will appear at the bottom of the View Organizational Structure page for the organizational structure.

Modifying Existing Organizational Structures for Hybrid Aggregation

To modify an existing organizational structure to make it a hybrid structure:

1.

From the Reporting tab, under Organizational Structures, click Organizational Structures.

2.

In the list of organizational structures, click the name of the organizational structure for which you want to enable hybrid aggregation. This opens the View Organizational Structure page for that structure.

At the bottom of this page, you can see any vendor daemons that have been enabled for hybrid aggregation (in the Vendor Daemons list).

Click the Edit Organizational Structure link.

Click the Enable aggregation... checkbox.

5.

In the selection box, move the vendor daemons you want to select to the Selected vendor daemons box. To select multiple vendor daemons at one time, hold down the Ctrl key while selecting items.

6.

Click Save.
