Application Components
FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications comprises multiple components that are installed on-premises at your enterprise:

| • | Flexera Analytics—Advanced reporting capabilities |
| • | FlexNet Agent—Administers license servers and communicates with FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications |

FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications Core Modules: Admin and Reporting
FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications 2021 R1 consists of two separately installable modules:
| • | Admin—Provides the capability to manage license servers and vendor daemons. |
| • | Reporting—Provides usage-reporting functionality. |
FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications communicates with one or more FlexNet Agents that are installed on-premises at your organization.
Flexera Analytics 2021 R1
In addition to the Admin and Reporting modules, FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications provides the separately installable Flexera Analytics. Flexera Analytics is powered by the Cognos Reporting Engine, and can be used to create, generate, and distribute dynamic reports.

Important:FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications Foundation Edition does not include Flexera Analytics.
FlexNet Agent 5.8
A single FlexNet Agent resides on each license-server machine. The FlexNet Agent provides remote, secure administration of one or more license servers on that machine on behalf of FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications. FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications interacts with each license server using the FlexNet Agent.
