Uninstalling the Reporting Component

Uninstall the Reporting module using the platform-specific uninstaller and the process described in this section. Deleting the installation directory alone will not properly uninstall the application.

To uninstall FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications Reporting:

1. Export your Reporting configuration. See the section Exporting Configuration Settings in Configuring FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications.
2. Save any custom files to another location.
3. Stop FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications Reporting.
If the Reporting component was installed to run as a Windows service, the uninstaller also stops and uninstalls the Windows service.
If you set up the Reporting component to start on boot on UNIX, delete the service script from where you installed it.
4. Close all files and folders in the FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications Reporting installation directory.
5. Run the uninstaller.
UNIX platforms—Run the product’s uninstaller in the FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications Reporting installation directory using the command flexnet uninstall. The UNIX uninstaller is not interactive.
Windows platforms—Uninstall by doing one of the following. The Windows uninstaller is interactive.
Uninstall FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications Reporting using the Add or Remove Programs panel, available from the Control Panel.
Run the product’s uninstaller in the FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications Reporting installation directory using the command flexnet uninstall.
6. The uninstaller removes all files from the FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications Reporting installation directory, except the files contained in the following directories: config, custom, data, and logs. If you are upgrading to a later version of FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications, you need to retain the config, data, and logs directories.
Upgrading to a later version: If you are upgrading to a later version, delete only the custom directory.

Important:Do not delete the config, data, or logs directories because these directories are required for the upgrade process to be successful.

Not Upgrading: If you are simply uninstalling FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications Reporting and are not planning on upgrading to a later version, you can delete the entire FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications Reporting directory if you do not want to retain any of the files contained in the config, custom, data, or logs directories.
