Usage Data Maintenance

If your enterprise has used FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications for a long period of time and/or has a high volume of usage data, you may accumulate a large amount of usage (both report log and aggregation) data. To help you manage the volume of usage data, you can delete database data that you no longer need to keep.

All usage aggregation data is stored separately in the database. Hourly usage data consumes more space than daily usage data (24 hours in one day), and daily usage data consumes more space than monthly usage data (~30 days in one month). If you delete hourly usage aggregation data, but retain daily usage aggregation data, it can free a substantial amount of database space. However, you would still be able to run reports based on the daily usage aggregation data. This enables you to generate reports to see the usage breakdown by day, but the reports will not provide the ability to drill down to hourly usage.
