Installing the UNIX Service Script

If you are running on UNIX, you can start FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications Reporting using the service script, flexnet-service, after it has been renamed to flexnet_reporting-service. You configured the service script during the FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications Reporting installation.

To start Reporting using the UNIX service script:

Copy the service script reporting_install_directory/site/bin/flexnet-service to an appropriate boot script directory such that it can be executed by root at startup time, for example, the /etc/init.d directory.

Rename the script to <flexnet_reporting-service>. You can rename the script to whatever name you want to use, as long as it is not flexnet-service.

Important:If the service script is not renamed, running it as flexnet-service will overwrite the script used for FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications Admin.

Run FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications Reporting by typing flexnet_reporting-service start.
