Data Warehouse and Aggregation

For increased reporting efficiency, Flexera Analytics (Cognos) reports are built from data contained in a set of database tables called the data warehouse, which stores usage data. Aggregation is the process that parses the report log data that has been imported to FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications and populates the data warehouse with usage data. It is sometimes referred to as a “roll-up”.

You can run aggregation on your enterprise’s report log data in two ways:

Incremental Aggregation—Run aggregation for specified vendor daemons and/or for a specific time period.

•

Periodic Aggregation—Run aggregation on a regularly scheduled, periodic basis.
