Exporting Configuration Settings

The configuration export utility backs up the FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications Admin/Reporting configuration settings that are displayed and available in the web application. Configurations are exported to a .zip file that contains FlexNet Platform Server, user interface, and application-specific settings in separate XML files. The configuration import utility uses the .zip file to restore all configuration settings.

Before changing any configuration settings in a working FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications Admin/Reporting installation, you may want to export configuration settings. Therefore, if there is a problem with the new settings, you have a backup of working settings to restore.

This section provides instructions for exporting configuration settings, both through the FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications Admin interface and from the command line (FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications Admin or Reporting).
