Viewing Organizational Structures

The Organizational Structures page (available from the Reporting tab) displays a list of all of the organizational structures that have been created using FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications or imported using an XML file (or a CSV file, for virtual organizational structures). The Organizational Structures list provides the following information about your organizational structures.

Description

Organizational structure name

Click the organizational-structure name to open the View Organizational Structure page for this organization. From here, you can add and assign users (for user-based organizational structures), and access the Edit Organizational Structure page.

Organizational structure type

The type of organizational structure:

User ID—Structure with users as the end nodes.
Hosts—Structure with license-server hosts as the end nodes.
Projects—Structure with projects as the end nodes.

Hybrid aggregation

This column applies only to user ID–based organizational structures, and will say Enabled if this structure is enabled for hybrid aggregation. With hybrid aggregation, usage data is aggregated for on both the organizational and the license-server level.

For more information, see Hybrid Organizational Structures.

Virtual org

This column indicates whether the organizational structure is a virtual (or ad-hoc) organizational structure. For information, see Virtual Organizational Structures.

LDAP domain association

Indicates whether there is a domain associated with the organizational structure. If a domain is associated, you can click the link to open the LDAP Association and Mapping page for the organizational structure. If an organizational structure is associated with an LDAP domain, you can import LDAP data from this page.

For information, see Associating Organizational Structures with LDAP Domains and Defining Attribute Mappings.

The Organizational Structures list contains the All Users organizational structure, which is the default (and empty) user organizational structure provided by FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications. You can use this organizational structure to organize users in your organization, or you can create any number of new organizational structures for the same set of users.

When you run the aggregation for the first time, the aggregation process brings unassigned users into the FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications system. You can assign these unassigned users to this (or to another) organizational structure.
